YSC Open Day and RYA ‘Push the Boat Out’

Time:  14.00 – 18.00

Place:  On the River Yar, at Yarmouth Sailing Club.

Come and visit us, see what a sailing club does, and try sailing with one of our experienced members (we will lend you a buoyancy aid, just wear trainers or sensible shoes which will not fall off your feet).

We will be selling drinks and food.


Yarmouth Harbour Spring Festival

Time:  10.00 – 18.00.

Place:  Yarmouth Harbour.

A great day out for all the family – tour the lifeboats and meet the crews, take a boat trip, watch a live on-water safety display, see the Victorian Fair, buy something from the Boat Jumble, bring your lifejacket along to the Lifejacket Service Point to make sure it is safe and up to date, buy some fresh food served on the quay, and some Goddards Ale or Pimms, see the Hampshire Police Marine Unit and learn what they do, and lots more.


Swallows & Amazons Trip to Newtown

We are hoping to sail some dinghies to Newtown Creek again on Saturday 12th May to enjoy camping there overnight.  A barbecue will be available for cooking sausages, etc. and we are hoping that some parents will organise games.  We will then sail back to Yarmouth on the Sunday.  The dinghies will be accompanied by some members of the Cruising Section and any Scows who want to take part.

Informal BBQ

Join us for a drink and BBQ at the club on Friday 18th May (bar open at 18.15).    Everyone welcome.

Burgers and sausages will cost £2 each.  To assist the caterers, please contact Sue Tribe ( to let her know your food requirements.

Adult Training Course Level 1 CANCELLED

The Training Course scheduled for 19th and 20th May has been cancelled due to lack of participants.  There is another Level 1 course on 30th June/1st July.

BBQ after Simply Sailing outing

Join us for a BBQ after the Simply Sailing outing on Friday 25th May.  All members and guests welcome.

Times:  Sailing briefing at 17.45, sailing – 18.15 – 19.30.  Bar open from 18.15.  Barbecue served from 19.00.

Food:  beef burger or marinated chicken breast served in a roll with fried onions, tomatoes & lettuce.  Veggie burgers and sausaged also available.

Cost:  £2 per plate.

Junior Training – Advanced Modules

These two courses, running during the May half term week, are for those children who hold Stage 4 certificates.  There will be 2 days of Start Racing (Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th May) and 2 days of Sailing with Spinnakers (Thursday 31st May and Friday 1st June).
