We have a full social programme during the winter months, consisting of talks, films, quizzes, games evenings, suppers, etc. You can see what sort of things go on by downloading last winter’s Programme here: Winter Programme 2017 & 2018
We also serve lunch on Sundays at 1.00 (bar open from 12.15). This would not take place without the volunteers who make and serve the lunches and staff the bar.
To give us an idea for catering numbers, we ask members to sign up for Sunday lunches and social events on the notice board by the front door in the club.
Several members’ special interest groups meet at the club:
Slipshod Singers – our renowned male voice choir meets for rehearsals every Tuesday evening from September to May. Find out more from their website – http://slipshodsingers.webeden.co.uk/
Art Group – our keen artists meet on Tuesday afternoons in the winter months. For more information contact Mary Lord (01983 760706).
Book Club – the Book Club is our newest special interest group. Its members normally meet on the last Thursday of every month throughout the year, at 12.30, over lunch when there are hot drinks available and the bar is open. Members bring food and discuss their Book of the Month. The book for June is “All The Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr. New members are welcomed. For more information contact Shirley Peters (01983 755392).
